Of course, we want you to arrive in time to settle in but please do not arrive before the stated time

Acrylic and/or gel and combined nail courses start at 8.45am so arrival is 8.30

You will normally be working with other trainees on the course.
A condition of attending is that you act as a model for the treatment for another trainee and agree to work safely and in accordance with trainers instructions.

Sometimes the trainer will arrange a model/s but this is at their discretion.
You are agreeing to this and any problems with this must be discussed prior to the course.
If you refuse on the course day you will still be charged the full course fee even if not completed.

Kits

You will be using your own kit on the course day if you purchase one, or use our products for £10.

Some Companies include the use of products on the day for students to use, but they charge double or more for the courses than Top Talons to cover the cost of using their products.  Top Talons courses are very good value for money compared to many especially ‘ branded’ training which can run into over £1000 for one subject alone.

Waxing courses

Students work on each other for all areas of waxing.  Please leave some hair on so other students can train correctly. Working with each other is an agreement for booking the waxing course unless pre-agreed by Top Talons. If a student refuses on the training day to have any area waxed, they will not be able to proceed with the course and will lose their deposit.

Lash Courses

Contact Lenses

Contact lenses cannot be worn for eyelash extensions.  Please bring either spare contact lenses or glasses, as when acting as a model for the other student, as you will have to remove them when being practised on.

Case studies may be required to receive your certificate. It is not a guaranteed certificate on the day.

Performing lash extensions is an intricate and involved treatment that requires the correct eyesight to apply them safely and in accordance with insurance requirements.  If the trainer notices that lashes are not being applied safely and correctly using too much glue or other issues with incorrect application due to eyesight or any other reasons at all, certificates will not be issued and you may be asked to return for an assessment when there is a space on another date.  There could be a charge for this.  Case studies will also be required until an acceptable level of safety and standards has been achieved.

Russian Volume Lash Courses

You must bring all your own classic lash kit with you including gel pads and tape.

Russian Volume Tweezers.

There are numerous styles of Russian Volume Lash Tweezers.  We at Top Talons only stock ONE type of Russian Volume Lash tweezer as we found this to be our most popular. If you require a certain style of curved Russian Volume Lash tweezer you would need to bring your own with you, as we will not have them available on the day.  We only offer one type.

NOTE:  A jade stone is required for the glue, you would bring one with you or buy one on the day if you do not have one.

Models

If you bring a model to practise on for any of the courses or are acting as a model for another student the model must agree to be compliant and allow the student to perform the treatment safely and correctly.  If this is not the case and the model is not suitable, you will be asked to re-book the course for another date and a fee of £50 will be charged.  For any eye treatment courses such as lash extension, the model is agreeing by booking or attending Top Talons courses to act as a model that they will keep eyes closed at all times during the treatment unless advised by the trainer.  You are agreeing to inform any models you may bring of this before their attendance.

Models for Eyelash Extension Courses

You are agreeing to act as the model for another student when booking an eyelash extension course classic or Russian Volume, unless pre agreed by Top Talons.  The course can sometimes not finish til 5-5.30.  You are agreeing to stay if necessary.

You are accepted onto a course on the understanding that you attend on the date and at the time specified in your confirmation email. Classes will commence promptly at the time stated, irrespective of whether all students are present, and are not delayed for late-comers.
Tutors are not responsible for repeating notes or stages missed, and can refuse to admit you at their discretion.

Mobile Phones

Mobile phones do not need to be switched off during the course, you may have the need for your family to be able to contact you, but you are not allowed to use the phone for social calls or for texting. It is very off-putting and inconsiderate to other course members. It may also be a courtesy to turn down the volume on your phone or turn in onto vibrate so if you do get an essential call, it doesn’t disrupt the class.

Attendance and Diplomas

Paying for and/or attending a course does not guarantee the awarding of a diploma or certificate.
Diplomas are gained by the successful fulfilment of the criteria set out by the course provider and its accrediting bodies, and the awarding of diplomas is at the discretion of the tutor.
In the case of a dispute, the decision of the Principal is final.

We will endeavour to issue certificates on the day, but if not we will aim to deliver them within 6 weeks after the course date.
